An eye-catcher for the district administration of the Landkreis Dahme-Spreewald

An off-the-peg bicycle shelter of the required size would have spoilt the view of the public building and the entry into Königs Wusterhausen. Playing on its prominent location, we turned the bike shed into a branding motif for the district. Using fly-around 3D-imaging to convince the client of its merits, we developed a one-off architectural eye-catcher based on the theme of upturned boats with their poles sticking in the air.

This kind of boat is more associated with the Spreewald but they were a familiar sight in the Dahmeland too. The rust coloured steel and wood pigment picks up on colours in the house facade and makes the boat reference less literal and more sculptural.
