Sun-trap

Sun-trap

How do you extend park visitors’ enjoyment of the sun’s rays into early Spring and late Winter? With a sun-trap, of course! Half the battle is providing protection against the prevailing wind. We developed and patented this structure for the spa park in Bad Wilsnack. By orientating a highish structure in a south-westerly direction you can catch the afternoon’s rays. The pocket of warm air around you buffers the prevailing wind and sends it up over the top.

The use of blasted pinewood cladding is a visual reference to the famous inhalatorium standing nearby and gives the sun-trap a seaside-feel. The higher than usual seat and the long arm rests make it easier for elderly people to get up out of the reclining position.
